KG and GFA Professional Development Day

Join us for a full day of learning

Sunday 21st June 2026 | 9am-4pm | Bugs Gymnastics, Burwood

Cost: $50 per session or $150 for a Full day pass (4 Sessions)

Coaches of all levels and all gymsports are invited to join us for an inspiring and practical KinderGym & GFA Professional Development Day at Bugs Gymnastics in Burwood on Sunday 21st June 2026. This day is designed to deepen your understanding, refine your coaching approach and leave you feeling confident and motivated in your role.

The day will begin with Move & Grow: Early Childhood Development Through KinderGym, focusing on helping coaches understand why KinderGym matters, not just what to teach. This session will explore how your coaching supports gross motor development, brain development and neural pathways, social–emotional confidence and the school readiness skills that set young children up for success. You will gain valuable insight into the impact you have in shaping early childhood development every time you step onto the floor.

In Play-Based Gymnastics: Turning Fun into Fundamental Movement, you will discover how purposeful play can be a powerful tool for structured learning. This session highlights how incorporating play-based strategies can build engagement while developing strong fundamental movement skills, ensuring your classes are both fun and highly effective.

The day will also cover Coach the Kid in Front of You – Individualising in Rec Classes, providing practical strategies to adapt your coaching so that every gymnast feels supported and appropriately challenged. Alongside this, “From Participation to Progress: Raising the Standard in Recreational Gymnastics Coaching" will challenge perceptions of recreational programs and demonstrate how to deliver high-quality, purposeful sessions without relying on a competitive pathway.

Led by passionate and knowledgeable presenters Lucy Fyfield, Paula Jarvinen, Melissa Hughes and Shae Christian, this professional development day is a fantastic opportunity to learn from industry experts, connect with fellow coaches and take away ideas you can implement immediately in your classes.
