Become an Intermediate Coach

Are you ready to grow as a coach?

 

If you currently hold a Fundamental coaching accreditation and are 16 years old, you are ready to become an Intermediate Accredited Coach. At an intermediate level can specialize in a  particular Gymsport.

Coaches can obtain an Intermediate Accreditation in a specific Gymsports including;

  • Aerobic Gymnastics (AER)

  • Acrobatic Gymnastics (ACR)

  • Gymnastics For All (GFA)

  • Kindergym (KG)

  • Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)

You can view the Intermediate skills matrix and view what skills you can coach at an Intermediate level here.

 

Completing any assessment or accreditation is always best done when there is a timeline in place. Check the coaching course calendar to find the next coaching course for your chosen Gymsport, and plan to complete your assessments with at least 1 week to spare before the practical face-to-face course.

  • Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG)

  • Trampoline Gymnastics (TRP)

  • Tumbling Gymnastics (TUM)

  • Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG)

Intermediate Accreditation assessment tasks

These are the steps to gain an Intermediate Coaching Accreditation;

1. Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 1 (Online)

2. Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 2 (Online | Gymsport Specific)

3. Intermediate Workbook (Assessment | Supervisor required)

​

4. Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Practical (Gymsport Specific | Face-to-face assessment)

What are the pre-course requirements?

To begin the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation, you must hold a Fundamental Coaching Accreditation and be 15 years of age or older.

What is the cost of completing the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation?

There are 3 costs associated with the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation;

1. Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 1 (Online) - $60.00

2. Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Theory 2 (Online) - $55.00

3. Intermediate Coaching Accreditation - Practical (Face-to-face) - $195.00

Total cost: $310.00

How long will the course take?

The total time it will take to complete the Intermediate Coaching Accreditation is approximately 36 hours. This includes;

  • 20 hours of on-the-job training

  • 4 to 12 hours of Online coursework

  • 8 hours of face-to-face practical assessment
